August: National Wellness Month

I had the wonderful pleasure of hosting my first self-care planning social event.
We planned out our self-care goal for the month of August and created the steps and agenda in which to achieve them. We also made connections over the similarities in our struggles with maintaining our ideal self-care routines.
It’s really nice not feeling like you’re the only one who doesn’t put their clean laundry away once it comes out the dry
It takes 21 days to make or break a habit and 90 days before it becomes an actual lifestyle change. So if you’re needing an excuse to create, re-start or re-assess your wellness goals, August is your sign to do so.
If you're feeling overwhelmed about setting goals or are not sure where to begin, you can start by getting a plain sheet of paper and just brain dumping all your wellness and self-care goals onto the paper. You can then use the 7 pillars of wellness to help organize your goals and plan out the action steps you’ll need to achieve them.
Scheduling your self-care actions on to your calendar and treating them as important meetings with yourself will help you to not put these actions off and turn them into the habits and lifestyle change you want them to be.
Make your wellness goals a reality by just taking the first step.
